Plumber Forrestfield

Forrestfield sits about fifteen kilometres south-east of the Perth CBD in the City of Kalamunda, at the base of the Darling Scarp on the southern border of Perth Airport. Roe Highway splits it into a residential southern area and a northern industrial one built around a major rail freight yard and associated depots. For a plumber that means two quite separate kinds of work in the same suburb: heavy commercial trade waste and yard drainage to the north, established domestic housing to the south.

• A major industrial and rail freight areaThe depots, workshops and yards north of Roe Highway generate washdown water, sediment and oily waste that cannot discharge straight to the sewer. They need arrestors sized for the actual load and cleaned on a realistic interval, and a neglected one is what causes most of the blockages we attend on those sites.
• Very large sites with long service runsWater and sewer runs across an industrial block of that scale are long, frequently unmarked and rarely where anyone expects. We locate before excavating rather than digging on a guess, because on a working site a wrong guess costs downtime as well as money.
• Established housing south of Roe HighwayThe residential half is ordinary suburban work, but the housing is established enough that galvanised supply pipe and earthenware sewer are common. Those are age-related failures rather than anything the owner has done, and renewing a run beats repeating the repair.
• At the base of the Darling ScarpForrestfield sits where the hills meet the plain, so the properties on the eastern side take runoff coming down off the scarp as well as their own rainfall. Drainage on those blocks needs sizing for water arriving from above them.
