Merriwa is a coastal suburb thirty-six kilometres north of the Perth CBD in the City of Wanneroo. For a plumber it is a straightforward suburb to read: it was bushland until the late 1980s and was then built out in estates over about a decade, so most homes share an age and are around thirty years into their service life. The southern Quinns Beach Estate is the oldest part. Alongside the housing, two RAAF retirement villages mean a share of high-occupancy work that has to be booked and staged rather than attended on spec.
