Rossmoyne lies about fourteen kilometres south of the Perth CBD in the City of Canning, bounded by the Canning River to the north, Bull Creek to the west and Leach Highway to the south. Subdivided from the mid-1950s, it is now one of the most heavily rebuilt suburbs in Perth thanks to its school zone.
