That brings a specific set of jobs: new connections, work that should still be under builder's warranty, and hot water systems sized to a builder's standard rather than to the household that moved in. We will tell you when something is the builder's responsibility rather than yours.

If you are looking for a plumber in Alkimos for a leak, a blocked drain or an emergency, Proud Plumbing and Gas can help. No call-out fee during regular business hours, obligation-free fixed-price quotes, and licensed plumbers and gas fitters.

Proud Plumbing Services Alkimos & Nearby Suburbs

Alkimos WA 6038, City of Wanneroo. About 42 km north-north-west of the Perth CBD.

Alkimos is a coastal suburb forty-two kilometres north-north-west of the Perth CBD in the City of Wanneroo, and it is still under construction as part of a planned satellite city intended to eventually house tens of thousands of people. Housing estates now cover much of the northern and southern parts of the suburb. For a plumber that means new homes on new mains: the jobs are connections, warranty questions and undersized builder-standard hot water rather than the worn pipework of an older suburb, with a coastal position that shortens the life of exposed fittings.

  • A suburb still being builtEstates are still being released across Alkimos, which means live construction alongside occupied homes and new water and sewer connections going into recently laid mains. If a fault in a new home is a workmanship issue rather than wear, we will say so, because that is usually the builder's problem and not yours to pay for.
  • Builder-standard hot water systemsNew homes here come with a unit sized for a small household. A family that has grown since moving in will run out of hot water regardless of the unit's condition, and sizing the replacement to actual demand is the only thing that fixes it properly.
  • A coastal positionAlkimos runs along the coast, so external hot water units and outdoor tapware are exposed to salt-laden air and corrode before their rated life. It is worth specifying for that at the point of replacement rather than fitting the same thing again.
  • New pipework, so the fault is elsewhereThe water and sewer pipework in an Alkimos home is recent and sound. A quote for significant pipe replacement in a house this new should be questioned, and we will give you an honest second opinion instead of agreeing with it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our new home has a plumbing fault. Is that our problem or the builder's?
Often the builder's, and it is worth establishing before you pay anyone. In a new Alkimos home a fault is more likely to be workmanship than wear, and that generally sits within the builder's warranty. We will tell you honestly what we find so you can take it up with them rather than simply charging you for it.
We keep running out of hot water in a brand new house. Why?
The unit is sized for a smaller household than yours. Alkimos homes are fitted to a builder's standard specification, and a family showering in the same hour will empty that unit regardless of its condition. Sizing the replacement to your actual demand fixes it for good.
Do outdoor fittings really corrode faster here?
Yes, Alkimos is a coastal suburb and salt-laden air shortens the life of external hot water units and tapware. Ring (08) 6185 3008 and we will specify fittings suited to the position rather than fitting the same thing that just failed.
