Ardross occupies the elevated part of the Applecross peninsula about eight kilometres south of the Perth CBD in the City of Melville, bounded by Canning Highway, Ardross Street, Wireless Hill Park and the Garden City centre. Its housing is largely mid-century and is steadily being replaced by much larger homes. For a plumber the high ground matters: soakage works here, unlike the foreshore suburbs, and the real question is whether older connections can carry the houses now being built on them.
