Plumber Eden Hill

Eden Hill WA 6054, Town of Bassendean. About 10 km north-east of the Perth CBD.

Eden Hill is a small eastern suburb about ten kilometres north-east of the Perth CBD in the Town of Bassendean, with a population of around 3,500. It was approved as a suburb in 1954 and built out over the years after, so its housing shares an age and its original water and sewer services are roughly seventy years old. For a plumber that consistency is useful: the same faults repeat from street to street, which usually means we know what we are looking for before we arrive.

• Housing of a single era from the mid 1950sEden Hill was built out over a short period, so galvanised supply pipe, gate valves and earthenware sewer across the suburb are reaching the end of their life together. A fault in one street generally turns up in the next within a year or two, which is a pattern rather than bad luck.
• Seventy-year-old supply pipeGalvanised water pipe of that age has narrowed internally with corrosion, and the pressure drop happens slowly enough that people stop noticing it. No tap, filter or fitting restores it. Replacing the affected run is the only thing that does, and we will tell you which runs actually need it.
• Mature gardens beside earthenware sewerSeventy years of garden growth means established trees close to sewer lines that join in short sections. Root intrusion is the most common blockage we clear in Eden Hill, and a camera tells you whether the pipe warrants relining or whether periodic clearing is the sensible option.
• A small suburb on our eastern runEden Hill is compact and sits on the route we work through Bassendean and Bayswater, so once we are in the area we are close to any address in it. That is why we can give a realistic arrival time for an after-hours call rather than a half-day window.
