Plumber Heathridge

Heathridge WA 6027, City of Joondalup. About 24 km north of the Perth CBD.

Heathridge is a suburb in the City of Joondalup, bounded by Hodges Drive, the Mitchell Freeway, Ocean Reef Road and Marmion Avenue. The name was proposed by the developer in 1974 for the heath vegetation growing on the sand ridges of the area, and the suburb was gazetted in October 1975. Development started in 1976, the north and east were rezoned for urban development in 1978, land in the Heathridge Heights area became available through the 1980s, and previously unoccupied pockets in the north and west were developed in the late 1990s.

• Three development waves from 1976 to the late 1990sHeathridge was not built in one go. The first land sales were in 1976, Heathridge Heights followed through the 1980s and the northern and western pockets came in the late 1990s. The water pipe and sewer under those areas are of quite different ages, so we establish which release a property belongs to before quoting.
• Named for the sand ridges it is built onThe heath vegetation on sandy ridges gave the suburb its name, and that sandy, undulating ground generally drains well. Soakage performs better here than in the low suburbs beside the lakes, which means drainage work is often simpler and cheaper than owners expect.
• Original housing from 1976The earliest Heathridge streets have run their original water and sewer services for close to fifty years. Galvanised supply narrowed by corrosion and earthenware sewer joints reached by roots are the two faults we deal with most often in that part of the suburb.
• Bounded by four major roadsHodges Drive, the freeway, Ocean Reef Road and Marmion Avenue form the suburb's edges, which makes any street in it quick to reach. That is why we can give a realistic arrival time for a burst pipe here rather than a vague window.
