Plumber Jandakot

Jandakot WA 6164, City of Cockburn. About 21 km south of the Perth CBD.

Jandakot lies about twenty-one kilometres south of the Perth CBD in the City of Cockburn and is dominated by Jandakot Airport, the busiest general aviation airport in Australia, with substantial industrial and business estates around it. The suburb also names the groundwater mound beneath it, a protected drinking water source. For a plumber that means trade waste, wash bays and hangar amenities, all under discharge rules that are stricter here than almost anywhere we work.

• Sitting on a protected water sourceThe Jandakot groundwater mound supplies drinking water, so what is allowed to enter the ground here is tightly controlled. Arrestors, wash bays and site drainage need designing and maintaining to that standard, not merely installed and forgotten.
• Aviation and workshop wash-downHangars and maintenance premises generate oily and solvent-laden wash-down that cannot go anywhere near a standard connection. Interceptors there need sizing for the real work being done and servicing to a schedule.
• Large estates with unmapped service runsWater and sewer runs across the business estates here are long and the documentation is rarely current. We locate before excavating, because on a working site a wrong guess costs downtime as well as the repair.
• Operations that cannot simply stopAn airport business losing its water or its amenities loses the day. We stage the work and put the disruptive parts outside operating hours, and we say up front which parts those are.
