Plumber Bedfordale

Bedfordale WA 6112, City of Armadale. About 33 km south-east of the Perth CBD.

Bedfordale is a semi-rural suburb in the Darling Range about thirty-three kilometres from the Perth CBD, in the City of Armadale, sitting between Churchman Brook and Wungong dams. Blocks are large and bushed, there is no public transport, and much of the suburb is unsewered. For a plumber that means septic systems, rainwater tanks, bores and pumps as the everyday work, all of it on steep ground with rock close to the surface.

• Unsewered blocks on septic systemsBedfordale properties run septic tanks and leach drains rather than connecting to sewer. Those systems fail slowly, and the first sign is a wet patch or a smell rather than a backed-up fixture, so scheduled pumping out is far cheaper than dealing with a drain that has surfaced.
• Tanks, bores and the pumps that run themHousehold water here comes from tanks or a bore, which makes the pump, the pressure vessel and the filtration the components that matter. Hard bore water also scales hot water elements and tapware much faster than scheme supply does.
• Rock and slope under every trenchDigging for a water line, a drain repair or a soak well in these hills routinely strikes rock at shallow depth. That is the main reason a Bedfordale quote differs from one on the plain, and it is why we look at the block before pricing the work.
• Long driveways and bush accessA house set well back behind a long driveway carries a long private water line and limits what can be brought to the job. We plan the gear before we come out, because a second trip on a hills block wastes a day.
